What Does a Ceilings &
Partitions BOQ Include?

A practical introduction to specialist quantities and scope considerations.

· Estimating guide

A Bill of Quantities (BOQ) organises measured work into clearly described items. For ceiling and partition contractors, it helps connect project drawings and specifications with tender pricing and material planning.

Typical quantity categories

  • Partitions and framing: wall types, lengths, heights and framing requirements.
  • Linings: plasterboard systems, layers, faces and specified performance requirements.
  • Ceilings: ceiling types, areas, suspension or framing requirements and bulkheads.
  • Associated scope: insulation, openings, details and identified inclusions or exclusions.

Why scope clarity matters

A useful BOQ does more than show numbers. It identifies the basis of measurement, differentiates construction systems and gives the estimator a structure for checking drawing and specification requirements.

Actual BOQ inclusions depend on the project documentation and the agreed measurement scope. Estimator review remains important where drawings are incomplete or information is ambiguous.
